We built BuildASwitch because we were tired of settling. Tired of buying off-the-shelf guns that were almost right. Tired of paying gunsmiths to swap parts one at a time. We wanted a place where you could spec out every single component — from frame to finish — and have it built right the first time.

BuildASwitch started in a garage in 2019. Our founder — a competitive shooter and former armorer — was tired of the same cycle: buy a production gun, immediately start swapping parts, pay a gunsmith to fix what the factory got wrong, repeat.
The idea was simple: configure every single component before it's ever assembled. Pick your frame, barrel, trigger, finish — and have a certified gunsmith build it exactly that way, the first time. No compromises. No "close enough." Just your build.

BuildASwitch is a fully custom firearm builder. You pick every part — frame, barrel, trigger, handguard, optic, finish, and accessories — from a curated catalog of America's best brands. We assemble it, test it, and ship it to your FFL dealer.
Think of it like Build-A-Bear, but for your sidearm or rifle. Except instead of stuffing a bear, we're torquing barrel nuts and lapping slides. And instead of a birth certificate, you get a test-fired, function-checked firearm built exactly to your spec.
